Durable Medical Equipment (DME) / Post-Surgery

Durable Medical Equipment may include a brace, Continuous Passive Motion (CPM) Machine, or Ultrasling (shoulder).

If you are coming for physical therapy after surgery, it is recommended that you use the equipment prescribed to facilitate your post-operative recovery and rehabilitation. We believe that when prescribed by your doctor, these devices are an integral part of achieving a successful outcome.

Scheck and Siress are the primary company that our office recommends providing equipment if deemed medically necessary. Other companies may also provide similar equipment. Their staff will attempt to contact you before receiving your DME to discuss your insurance coverage and the possibility of “out-of-pocket” expenses. Out-of-pocket expenses will depend on the terms of your individual insurance policy. Please understand that by its very nature, insurance is considered “risk-sharing” and most carriers will not cover all aspects of your peri-operative care, leaving some expenses for patient responsibility.

Please contact your insurance company to verify your Durable Medical Equipment (DME) benefits. We recommend that you contact the DME company directly with any concerns.

If you have any further questions, please contact the equipment companies directly at:

If you are being treated for a post-operative condition and are unclear about the equipment that may be prescribed for you following surgery, please call your doctor’s office. Following surgery, we recommend you contact a DME company directly with any concerns.

*Movement Solutions, LLC does not supply durable medical equipment.

*Prior to obtaining DME, please contact your insurance company to see if your insurance company can reimburse you for the DME you purchased.
