Hi friends,

Hurray for springtime! Hurray for vaccines!! Things are looking up, and as the NYT recently noted, the travel bug has us ready to go literally "anywhere."

And now, the stars have aligned, and I've found the perfect place for us to call home for a few nights this summer.  So let's head north of San Francisco to the rolling hills of Sonoma Wine Country!  With its Mediterranean climate, lush vineyards, and olive groves, Sonoma is an incredible place for food and wine-loving friends like us.

I've taken care of all the details and for our exclusive 3-night, 4-day culinary adventure. We'll stay in an elegant, private villa located in the heart of Sonoma and just minutes from one of my favorite towns -- Healdsburg!   From the moment we enter the magnificent estate and take in the fragrant lavender to when we lay eyes on our expansive swimming pool overlooking Alexander Valley, this is the kind of place we have all been craving. 

In addition to enjoying our airy and serene villa with breathtaking incredible views, Sonoma is home to organic farms, hand-crafted cured meats, and artisanal cheeses and bread, and here we can indulge in it all!  We'll wrap Pacific salmon in fresh fig leaves in our spacious and fully equipped kitchen, before grilling and serve it with a dried fig and walnut salsa verde.  We could also sear some ribeye steak and vegetables on a Himalayan salt block and bake homemade focaccia doused with local olive oil. 

If we're feeling adventurous, we'll make a giant paella outdoors!  Then we can relax and enjoy our meal together at a long farm table in front of the fireplace or dine al fresco and take in the scenery.

Oh, and let's not forget the wine.  With easy access to some of the most exquisite wineries in California, we'll soak in the real Sonoma wine country experience.  There are so many options, and I have one exceptional vineyard in mind for us to visit for an over-the-top tasting and lunch.
