July16 AAB Dixon Lake

Dixon Lake is up for Adoption!

San Diego County is filled with beautiful outdoor trails and open space areas including our newest Adopt-A-Canyon site, Dixon Lake. This site offers goregous views of the lake, picnic tables and tranquility. Our Administrative Assistant, Erika, had the pleasure of hiking around Dixon Lake herself and wrote a blog about her experience. Click the link below to learn how you can help keep this beautiful open space area clean.

July 16 - volunteer spotlight 2

Volunteer Spotlight

Our volunteer spotlight this month features a special group of young ladies who started their own club called "Save the Animal Kingdom!". The group attended our Clean Canyons for A Clean Coast Cleanup, which kicked off the second Escondido Adopt-A-Canyon site, Kit Carson Park, on June 11th. It was their first cleanup with I Love A Clean San Diego but definitely not their last! They plan to continue volunteering with us and the Adopt-A-Canyon program to fully embody their mission: save the animals. This group of young ladies understands the negative impact of trash and litter on the environment, and subsequently our wildlife.

Not only do they help beautify San Diego, but they volunteer monthly at cat shelters to help make cats adoptable. We look forward to seeing them all again at upcoming events and we wish them all the best in their journey to save the animal kingdom!

Schools Out for Summer!

July16 Education Spotlight

In the 2015-2016 school year, ILACSD reached 30,143 youth through a total of  589 presentations delivered across San Diego County. Students learned about their watersheds, sources of storm water pollution and its impact on food chains in the ocean, and how to be environmental stewards by taking simple, individual actions.  We are currently gearing up for the next school year and excited to present again. If you’d like have us visit your school, please click the link below!

Wells Fargo Employees Go All in for San Diego's Environment!

July16 Donor Spotlight Wells Fargo Cropped

This month, I Love A Clean San Diego would like to recognize Wells Fargo for its continued support of ILACSD’s environmental programs and events! Wells Fargo supports our biggest volunteer project of the year, Coastal Cleanup Day, through sponsorship funds and by providing a dedicated volunteer team to help out at a local site. This year, Wells Fargo is also funding our Green Business Solutions community workshop, a free interactive program to teach employees of local companies to learn how to make their offices greener and more sustainable.

Thank you, Wells Fargo, for making these programs possible!
