Congratulations Kaustov on your Graduation!

He lost his father, then his mother, then their home. This week he graduated high school with the help of the StandUp For Kids Mentor Program. The program meets with homeless and at risk students in high schools across Atlanta, Gwinnett and Hall Counties in Georgia.

Graduate Spotlight on Jose aka "Beto"

June02.pngJune03.png

Jose grew up in the blighted Tina Pacific neighborhood on the Stanton Anaheim border, where gangs and graffiti are prevalent in this high crime neighborhood.  He could have easily become affiliated with a gang but instead he chose to attend the StandUp For Kids after school mentoring and STEM program in his neighborhood resource center.

Beto as he prefers to be called has showed leadership skills by taking the initiative to organize and execute activities for the youth at Anaheim Center.  As a student Beto struggled, but with the help of his mentors, the homework support he received, and his persistence he was able to complete his credits and graduate with friends.

Beto is enrolled in Cypress community college for fall semester, and eventually wants to transfer to a University or State college to study architecture. In the meantime, he's spending the summer in a paid leadership internship through StandUp For Kids project L.E.E.V.E. where he will learn employment, leadership, and time management skills.

Thank you to our generous supporters, mentors, and staff for investing into these youth to create an atmosphere filled with hope, opportunities, and bright futures.

StandUp For Kids provides you with the opportunity to impact the lives of youth in your community without having to dedicate any time from your busy schedule. The Monthly Giving Program allows you to choose the amount you wish to give, automatically receives it each month and immediately puts your donation to use to help youth in need.

Recurring donations are the best way to give steady support to StandUp For Kids and we greatly appreciate our donors for seeing the value in their monthly giving! With the help of our Monthly Giving Program, we were able to offer support and services to 53,929 youth in 2018 alone - as well as provide 29,501 meals, support 2,107 kids with first-time un-duplicated services, deliver medical care to 186 children and reunite 31 kids with their families. None of this would be made possible if it weren’t for the kindness and steady support from our monthly donors.
