Special Announcement
This is an exciting time for I Love A Clean San Diego and we want to take this moment to share that our Executive Director, Pauline Martinson, will be taking a well-deserved three-month long sabbatical starting May 5th, 2016 to rest and reflect.

We’re excited for Pauline to be recognized for her hard work and appreciative of the Fieldstone Foundation’s Clare Rose Sabbatical Program for this opportunity.

This is not a goodbye but rather a see you soon.  If you have questions, please feel free to reach out to our staff. Thank you all for your continued support!

Volunteer Spotlight
This month, ILACSD would like to recognize the Triskelion Alumni Organization (TAO) for their hard work at our River Kids Discovery Days Cleanup! The TAO brought out a group of 10 enthusiastic volunteers to our recent cleanup of the San Diego River.  This group was so eager to clean the riverbed, they went right to the most impacted area of the cleanup and made a considerable difference in just 3 hours.  Volunteers at the River Kids Discovery Days Cleanup removed almost 1,000 pounds of trash and recyclables from the area, including a massive amount of electronics and other hazardous waste.   Thank you TAO for your passion for protecting our waterways!

April 16 - Education spotlight

Students Explore Tecolote Cyn.
We kicked off our first Nearby Nature program of the year with 3rd graders at John Muir School! This unique program allows ILACSD educators to take learning outdoors and inspire students to appreciate nature in their own backyard. On our hike in Tecelote Canyon, students identified local flora and fauna, and their adaptations. Our educators truly enjoyed seeing the students’ exuberance and enthusiasm for their local environment. Thank you, Qualcomm, for generously supporting this meaningful program!

Apr16 - matching campaign update

Three weeks left to double your impact!

We are so thrilled and thankful for the outpour of support we’re received during our Matching Campaign and we still have 3 weeks left! Every dollar raised will go towards programs like: Nearby Nature, Kids’ Ocean Day and the community cleanups that beautify this incredible place we call home.

We’re in the home stretch now. Please consider giving a gift that is meaningful to you and double your impact today! All gifts made before April 30th will be matched by Charles and Gail Kendall’s Family Fund at the Rancho Santa Fe Foundation up to $25,000.

Republic Services Loves a Clean SD!

April donor spotlight - republic-cropped

For Earth Month, ILACSD would like to recognize Republic Services for their longstanding partnership and support of our volunteer cleanup efforts. Republic Services provides waste hauling for many of our community events each year; in 2015, their donated bins collected 258,000 pounds of debris from San Diego beaches, waterways and neighborhoods. If you’ve ever loaded bags or invasive plants into a dumpster at an ILACSD cleanup, odds are good that Republic donated that bin to us!

Once again this year, Republic’s bins will be out in force supporting our volunteers’ efforts at the Creek to Bay Cleanup on April 23rd!
