Dear Francisco,

The US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has issued a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking that seeks to change the non-discrimination protections in Section 1557 of the Affordable Care Act. The proposed changes will limit the civil rights of limited English-speaking and disabled individuals in health care. The Administration's proposed rule would make it harder for limited English proficient individuals and families to see a doctor and even receive important medical information in their native language.
