Dear Francisco,
The US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has issued a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking that seeks to change the non-discrimination protections in Section 1557 of the Affordable Care Act. The proposed changes will limit the civil rights of limited English-speaking and disabled individuals in health care. The Administration's proposed rule would make it harder for limited English proficient individuals and families to see a doctor and even receive important medical information in their native language. 1. Submit your own comment. Every comment counts! This comment portal is easy to follow and will help you craft a unique comment in less than 5 minutes that will be submitted to HHS.
