DIRECTOR'S LETTER

The holiday season is a magical time. There are parties, plays, music, caroling, food, festivals, shopping, family get togethers and so much more. This season as you balance the juggling act that is the season, consider keeping it local more this year. There are many ways to make this season special in Heber Valley. Shopping local at our many wonderful businesses is a great way. By shopping at businesses in the Heber Valley we keep more money local which helps our valley’s economy and provide for services we all rely on. Another way to keep it local is engage in the many different events and festivities happening all season long. This year there is so much to do to get into the spirit with tree lightings in Midway and Heber City, Christmas Festivals to support the Children’s Justice Center, North Pole Express Trains at the Heber Valley Railroad and so many opportunities to serve each other, you can have a magical holiday right here at home. Add a few community events to your wishlist this year at gohebervalley.com/special_events. Wishing you and yours all the best during “this most wonderful time of the year.”

Fill'er UP Coffee Station

Walk in to Fill’er Up Coffee Station along Midway Main Street and you’re greeted to an eclectic style and design that is all at once inviting, charming, engaging and even nostalgic. Vintage metal signs from bygone eras adorn the walls, original artwork with the station standing as the muse hang in the corners, and even the outside sitting areas are festooned with old fashioned pedal cars. Everything about Fill’er Up is about providing a welcoming atmosphere while sipping on a hot espresso, or nibbling on a freshly baked quiche. For owners Millie and Roger Medby, seeing their customers enjoying the food and the ambiance is a dream come true.

'I'm a fanatic' Heber City shows off special collection of classic Ford vehicles
For enthusiasts, cars always take on something more than a simple means of transportation. They become members of families, symbols of success and legacies that will carry on for generations to come.

David Ruesch never intended to amass the number of cars he has today when he purchased his first Ford Coupe at 15 years old. Now well into his 80s, his love of restoring old Fords has netted him a beautiful collection of appropriately restored classics and a variety of other automotive collectibles.
