Coastal Cleanup Day

Registration Opens August 15th

Join us as we clean up and beautify 100+ beaches, canyons & neighborhoods for the 34th annual Coastal Cleanup Day. Last year,  6,686 volunteers came out to our 105 coastal and inland sites and successfully removed 128,168 pounds of litter in just 3 hours! Volunteers also helped beautify trails, remove invasive landscape, and remove graffiti. Sign up to be a part of this international event! Registration opens on August 15th! For more information and registration, head over to CleanupDay.org. We hope to see you there!

Help Prepare for CCD at the Packing Party

With an event this large, we have to start prepping and packing early! We are looking for volunteers to assist us as we prepare for Coastal Cleanup Day at our Packing Parties on August 20-24, 2018. Volunteers will help assemble boxes of supplies for over 100 cleanup sites. With your help, we can make this year’s Coastal Cleanup Day an even bigger success than the last!

Volunteer are still needed for the Tuesday-Thursday Packing Parties. Community service hours will be provided for any volunteers that need them. To sign up, please email our Community Programs Coordinator, Carly Keen, at ckeen@cleansd.org with your availability!

Join the Student Impact Committee

Do you know a teen who is passionate about the environment? We want to meet them! ILACSD is recruiting high school students in San Diego County to serve as ambassadors on our Student Impact Committee. Our committee’s mission is to inspire environmental awareness and action throughout the San Diego region. At monthly meetings, high school ambassadors will lend their voices and work with their peers to design and complete impactful projects about environmental issues. For more information, email Katie Shea at kshea@cleansd.org.

Volunteer Spotlight: Cody Bennett

Meet our August Volunteer Spotlight: Cody Bennett! Cody and his family have been volunteering with ILACSD for over two years! Recently at our Morning After Mess cleanup, Cody along with fellow volunteers removed over 1,000 lbs. of debris from Fiesta Island. Cody doesn’t let distance get in the way of his involvement – he has volunteered all over the County, from Mission Beach to Spring Valley to Lincoln Park! Cody regularly attends cleanups as a way to “build better community relations while helping to ensure environmental sustainability.” He and his family take action in their community by cleaning up litter and raising awareness of the issue, noting that everyone is responsible for keeping their neighborhood clean.

Besides volunteering, Cody is also an avid Padres fan and enjoys attending baseball games at Petco Park! Thank you Cody for keeping San Diego clean!

Volunteer at the Best of San Diego Party

I Love A Clean San Diego is thrilled to be the Charitable Partner for San Diego Magazine's Best of San Diego Party on Friday, August 17th! We are looking for a few more volunteers (21+) to lend a hand at this event! If you are interested in helping out, contact Becca at bkuntz@cleansd.org for more details!

Zero Waste Tip: Refillable Propane Tanks

Summer is the perfect season for barbecues or camping trips, and outdoor fun means grilling out! Did you know more than 4 million propane cylinders are wasted each year in California? With the Refuel Your Fun program it is easy to refill reusable 1 lb. propane cylinders! Save money and the environment when you refuel by refilling!

Donor Spotlight: Thanks to our Clean Beach Coalition Sponsors

The Clean Beach Coalition (CBC) bins set out this summer would not have been possible without the support of our sponsors! Thanks to all of the local businesses, organizations, and individuals that are helping to keep San Diego’s beaches clean over the summer holidays!

Our Mission

I Love A Clean San Diego leads and inspires our community to actively conserve and enhance the environment through example, outreach, and local involvement.
