Procopio is growing and we are looking for an Accounting Manager to join our team in our San Diego office. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for managing various accounting functions and analysis in general accounting, including, but not limited to, preparation of month-end journal entries, account reconciliation and analysis; reporting and overseeing the Firm’s 401k reporting. Typical responsibilities will include:

  • Manage and prepare financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Collaborate with outside CPA on audit requirements and manage implementation of audit recommendations
  • Monitor daily flow, manage bank reconciliations, and report discrepancies
  • Manage 401K reporting and oversee accurate record keeping, timely contributions
  • Manage completion of annual tax package and the process of filing business property tax statements
  • Review monthly insurance premium bills and prepares for payment;
  • Management and reconciliation of firm fixed assets

Our best candidates will have at least five (5) years general accounting  experience, a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, and will be comfortable with automated accounting systems such as Elite Enterprise.

The Accounting staff work closely together; a positive, professional, and team-oriented approach is essential for success. Typical pay range is from $95,000 – $105,000 annual depending on experience.

Procopio is seeking a Conflicts Analyst who will work directly on our Client Intake & Conflicts team to open new matters, handle conflicts requests, and process client/matter maintenance. This position will also be responsible for preparing and managing ethical screens, monitoring watchlist searches, training new team members, and other special projects.  The ideal candidate will have experience with Intapp Open, Intapp Walls and Elite and must be comfortable learning new technology and systems. This role will also correspond with the attorneys on a daily basis to obtain pertinent information relating to new and ongoing client matters. Candidates must have great overall technical, customer service, and organizational skills, in addition to having strong MS Office Suite skills.

The candidate should also be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment where multiple projects are going on simultaneously.  This position requires 4+ years of conflicts experience in a law firm. The candidate should be a team player with a positive, professional attitude, have strong follow-up skills, strong attention to detail, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.  The Conflicts team is primarily located in the downtown San Diego office and prefers local candidates. Procopio has an immediate opening for a full-time IP Docketing Assistant at our Downtown San Diego office. The Assistant will work directly with the intellectual property attorneys and paralegals to monitor actions due for patent and trademark filing and prosecution. On a regular basis the Docketing Assistant is responsible for processing incoming postal/electronic foreign and domestic mail from the USPTO and foreign associates; updating critical information in the docketing database and maintaining its accuracy to ensure quality of records; generating docket reports and queries; liaising with and handling inquiries from attorneys, paralegals and secretaries effectively; and assisting with various other administrative duties. Two or more years of experience in patents and/or trademark prosecution is required as is two or more years of administrative support experience. Familiarity with IP docketing systems or experience docketing is preferred but not required.

Successful Docketing Assistants have the ability to prioritize daily workload, as well as recognize and act on important details and deadlines. Our top candidates have at least 2 years’ experience in patent and trademark prosecution within a law firm an additional 2 years in administrative support.  They also have the ability to work under pressure, respond quickly to changing demands, and are self-motivated with the capability to work both independently and as part of a team. They also have strong administrative, organizational and interpersonal skills. Typical pay range is from $66,000 – $88,000 depending on experience. Procopio is looking to add an experienced Legal Secretary to join our Litigation team in our downtown San Diego office. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented and responsive professionals who can work in a dynamic environment. They have a minimum of 7 years of experience in a high volume, fast paced civil litigation environment providing litigation assistance and secretarial support. This person will support attorneys who practice corporate and commercial litigation law in both State and Federal courts, so to qualify candidates must have supported attorneys with similar practices. Candidates must have a paralegal certificate from an ABA approved program and at least 5 years working in real estate at a law firm. The candidate must be organized,  detail-orientated, passionate! This team is a leader in the industry and  work with impressive clientele, including projects throughout California, Hawaii, Arizona and Oregon. These projects include condominiums, planned developments, master-planned developments, standard subdivisions, mixed-use projects, mixed-use high-rise projects, affordable housing projects, and commercial condominiums.  The ideal candidate will have a strong working knowledge of real estate documents, a strong passion for supporting clients who’s projects average 5+ years, and a keen attention to detail as the team is very document heavy and technically savvy!
