CITY OF OCEANSIDE RELEASES ANNUAL REPORT
Report Highlights Initiatives and Accomplishments in 2021
The City of Oceanside announced the release of its Annual Report today, an ensemble of highlights, accomplishments and initiatives in 2021.

“Our entire community should be proud of our City’s accomplishments over the past year, as none of them would be possible without the collaborative efforts between residents, community partners, City staff, and City leadership,” noted Mayor Esther Sanchez. “Even while faced with the challenges of continuing to manage our response to the COVID-19 pandemic and pursue progress on our community’s priorities, the City of Oceanside was recognized for multiple accomplishments and awards that would not be possible without a full team effort.”

While the pandemic caused some of the City's operations to be modified and some infrastructure projects to be delayed due to supply or staffing issues, many key projects were still accomplished:

· The historic Pure Water Oceanside project was substantially completed, which will provide up to 30 percent of Oceanside’s water supply, the first of its kind in San Diego County
· El Corazon’s William A. Wagner Aquatic Center was opened
·  The coastal railway Quiet Zone was established
·  The General Fund saw an increase of nearly $24M
·   Design plans completed for Oceanside’s new downtown Fire Station 1
·   53 lane miles of roads were repaired and 2,400 potholes were filled
·   $23M in grant funding was acquired, saving public dollars
·    Land purchased and operator selected for Oceanside’s first year-round homeless shelter; began a hotel voucher program to move people immediately from the streets; committed $3.5M toward an affordable housing development.
·    344 Oceanside small businesses were provided COVID-19 relief grants.

“Each of these projects, along with many others, deserve to be celebrated,” said Mayor Sanchez.

The annual report highlights many projects that will shape Oceanside for years to come. Residents and businesses are encouraged to stay informed by reviewing the report: City of Oceanside Annual Report 2021
